KnitCandela - Challenging the construction, logistics, waste and economy of concrete-shell formworks

This paper describes the design, development, computational workflow, digital fabrication and construction of KnitCandela, a thin, undulating, concrete waffle shell built using a flexible formwork system featuring a custom, prefabricated knitted textile as shuttering and a form-found cable net as the main load-bearing formwork.
