Michele Capelli

Michele is an architect with a strong interest in reuse and the history of structural design. He graduated from ETH Zürich in 2022. In his studies, Michele specialized in graphic statics and explored the potential of the reuse of structural parts in concrete. During his master’s, he did archival and field research on the works of Swiss engineers Heinz Isler and Richard Coray. Michele’s Master’s thesis focused on the reusability and end-of-life strategies for buildings in an alpine context.

Michele was a teaching assistant for the BRG from 2017 to 2022. During this time he very much enjoyed teaching structural design and graphic statics to architecture students. In his current role as teaching coordinator, he has key responsibilities in the semester buildup of the first-year course Structural Design I & II and the supervision of the chair’s student teaching assistants.
