Minimum material truss

Explore different configurations of the geometry of the truss by moving the white handles in the form diagram. Use the control methods, i.e. checkboxes and buttons to set constraints which affect different aspects of the truss geometry. The magnitude and direction of the loads are fixed to P_{d} = 15 kN. The theoretical amount of material in the truss is calculated by multiplying the force in each member by the length of that member, and summing all these quantities. The goal is to find a configuration which requires as little material as possible.
